ABOUT FRANCESCA
Francesca Müller – a name that combines two cultures: Her Italian creativity and her German side’s organisational disposition. She speaks both languages fluently. Not only the bilingualism she inherited from her family but also her passion for interior design and decoration. The family business specialized in office interior fittings.
She is based in Amsterdam and developes unique surfaces for soft and hard finishes, including rugs, wallpaper, textiles & tiles.
She began as a Junior Art Director for Ogilvy & Mather and discovered her love for textiles, leading her to graduate as a Textile Design Engineer. For her final thesis, she was honored by Wilhelm Lorch Stiftung.
In 2008 she started her career as a textile designer by supporting Ulf Moritz as Design Assistant. Encouraged by her mentor, she collaborated with Mulberry Silks in India. She immersed herself in color and developed fabric decors for
the European editor market, showcased at textile high-profile fairs: Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Deco Off in Paris, and Proposte in Como. Studio Felix Diener engaged her to support the trend research for the Heimtextile Trendtable ‘Trends 2018/2019’.
Since 2018 she has worked for Marcel Wanders studio in Amsterdam and pioneered surface pattern design in the product and interior departments. She qualified in Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge and
became the in-house Sustainability Advisor.
Since 2022 she has been working with Villeroy&Boch Fliesen and Vitra Karo Tiles as Senior Designer between Amsterdam and Istanbul.
In 2023 her ‘Carpet & Wallpaper collection Citygrids’ was launched with YO2.
