ABOUT FRANCESCA

A designer that combines two cultures: Her Italian creativity and German organization. She inherited bilingualism and a passion for interior from
her family’s office fittings business.

Next to her work, as a Junior Art Director for Ogilvy & Mather, she uncovered a passion for textiles, which led to a degree as a Textile Design Engineer.

In 2008 she started as a Design Assistant for the textile legend Ulf Moritz. Encouraged by her mentor, she collaborated with Mulberry in India, developing decors for European textile editors, showcased at high-profile fairs.

Since 2018 she has worked for Marcel Wanders studio pioneering in surface pattern design, and becoming the in-house Sustainability Advisor, after qualifying in Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge.

Followed in 2022 by an engagment as Tile Designer for Villeroy&Boch and a collaboration with YO2 for a yearly collection of wallpapers and rugs.

In 2023 she started a collaboration with MONDiLAB to explore the possibilties of Artifical Intelligence in textiles and created Artisan Intelligence.

Based in Amsterdam, she developes unique surfaces
for rugs, wallpapers, textiles & tiles.
